Airport Transportation
From Alan Steinberger

Jeff Incutto, Operations Manager at the Warren Center, gave me the following response when I asked about transportation from either Boston or Providence airports:

"The Logan Express is probably your best bet to get transporation from Logan Airport to the Warren Center. Providence is a little further away so it would be more expensive. Logan Express' phone # is 508-872-5424. Or you could call Boston Coach 888-735-5038, ask for Tonny Gichohi (617-394-3742)."

I'm very pleased to announce the venue for our L1™ Musicians Conference to be held October 29-31.

We've made excellent arrangements with the Warren Conference Center & Inn in Ashland, MA.

The Inn is close to Bose headquarters, allowing us to spend some time showing you our home, something many of you requested. I also wanted to take advantage of the fact that Dr. Bose would like to speak to you all (a true honor).

The Warren Center is on a beautiful rustic site of rolling hills with fields and forests, and borders a large and protected reservoir. From your doorstep you can set off on a 3 1/2 mile hike around the reservoir and never see a house or road or car. The Inn itself is nestled on the edge of forest near the reservoir, far from any roads. It is tranquil and peaceful.

There's a large dining hall built in a post-and-beam barnlike architecture that the Warren Center has given to us to use as our main room for music and lectures. Other generous rooms are available to us for breakout sessions if that's what we decide to do.

There are two excellent options for accomodations.

  • The Inn has very high quality hotel-style rooms, each with a beautiful view of the surrounding forest. The Inn is small and intimate. These rooms will average about $150/night.
  • There's also cabins that sleep eight people each in twin beds (no bunks). Beds are separated by privacy barriers. The cabins are clean and rustic with two showers and two bath rooms. There are very nice common rooms in each cabin with working fireplaces. Accomodations in the cabins are only $55/night.

Regardless of which option you choose, most of your food will be paid for by Bose. The executive chef at the Warren Center is excellent and the style is buffet. The chef is also a rabid musician (electric guitar) with a serious working band.

There's a generous lobby in the Inn with an excellent Kawai baby grand. This lobby is available to us and we'll be there for a reception on Sunday night.

I have stayed at the Inn on a number of occasions for work and I have always loved it. The comfort combined with the seclusion (without being far from home) has always been magical for me. I hope you will say the same thing after the conference.

I must stress that we have a limited number of the Inn-style rooms. Some have a single queen sized bed and others have two full size beds.

If you have already said you are definitely coming, we are holding a bed for you. Everyone else, please let us know ASAP that you can join us.

If you have questions about the Warren Center or the conference, click here to ask it.

If you want to let us know you'll be attending, do so here.

More details will be provided as they become available.

We very much hope to see you there.

With best regards,

Ken Jacob Chief Engineer
