− | I am a "self-taught" keyboard player, not that I think that is anything to brag about. I began learning basic chord patterns as a kid on an ancient 12-bass piano accordian, although I would never have been able to tell you what chords I was playing. We also had a piano that I used to bang around on, most of my playing was by ear. I did do some music reading, having learned to read music in school playing a few different wind instruments. But I still have trouble reading those lower bass staff notes! My strength is being able to improvise within a song's chord structure.

− | Most of my gigs are now performed with my college-aged daughter who plays flute. We call ourselves the Carrington Duet and perform our own instrumental arrangements of classical, folk, light jazz, cinematic themes, and pop music.

− | We began using the L1® system when we found ourselves having to perform in a pinch at an outdoor art festival without an appropriate sound system. My first exposure to the system was seeing it being used by an outdoor cafe musician when we were on vacation in Petoskey, in northern Michigan. I was very impressed with the sound, the look, and its compactness and realized it would be perfect for us when the need came up...I explored the {{forum}} and took the plunge. We've never regretted the decision. The L1® has lived up to its billing and gives us the ability to perform professionally with confidence in a variety of venues.
