Introduction

Q: What is the recommended order to turn components on and off?

A: Short version:

  • Turn on the powered loudspeakers last.
  • Turn off the powered loudspeakers first.

We want to avoid amplifying the sounds of connecting and disconnecting things in the signal chain.

Follow the signal path from source to loudspeaker.
  1. Connect sound sources that goes into the mixer before turning on
  2. Turn on anything that plugs into an input on the mixer
  3. Turn down the mixer master volume
  4. Turn on the mixer mixer
  5. Turn on powered loudspeaker


Power off

  1. Turn off powered loudspeaker
  2. Turn off the mixer
  3. Turn off anything that plugs into an input on the mixer
