The electric guitars made by the Paul Reed Smith company are among the most influential and coveted electric guitars made today. The PRS SC-J is an innovative hollowbody archtop combining the comfort of a thinline profile with the deep throated resonance of an L-5 style full width body and long scale neck.

Thinline 17" archtops are rare indeed; the premium priced Gibson Byrdland and the very scarce L-5CT ("George Gobel") are virtually the only predecessors. The PRS SC-J is not only thinner than the Byrdland, but the body is almost equal in length to a Super 400. This stunning guitar is one of just 200 produced for US distribution, out of a one-time-only run of only 300 worldwide.

The SC-J archtop combines the great sound and feel of a hollowbody "box" with a distinctive design that makes it all PRS. This model features a figured, select-grade maple top and back, as well as a mahogany middle. The mahogany neck is topped with a Madagascar ebony fingerboard and headstock veneer, and the inlays are beautiful MOP birds, along with a PRS signature inlay.

Additionally, this instrument is equipped with PRS twin McCarty archtop humbucking pickups, master tone and volume controls, 3-way pickup selector toggle switch and all gold hardware, including, PRS Tunematic style bridge, and Grover Imperial tuners.

Finished in a warm golden PRS "Vintage Natural" lacquer. The top and back are carved of solid tiger flame maple, with a small interior block anchoring the bridge to enhance stability and sustain. The neck profile has the traditional PRS "Wide-Fat" carve, a gentle, full D profile reminiscent of the classic 50's L-5 and Super 400 models. Action is smooth and low over the solid Macassar ebony fingerboard, with a full length 25 1/2" scale fingerboard for increased snap and definition.

Handsome, versatile, and effortlessly playable, the PRS SC-J combines classic tone and opulent design in one compelling package.
